The German made Diesel Catch Can prevents carbon build up in the intake by safely filtering out the oil mist.
Most modern diesel engines are designed to ensure oil mist (blow by) is not released into the atmosphere but recirculated through the intake into the combustion chamber. The by-product of this design is the gradual build up of oil turned into hard carbon around the walls of the EGR valve, inlet manifold, turbo and intercooler. The result is loss of power, efficiency and possible engine damage.
The innovative design of the diesel catch uses a high quality polymer reinforced body and consists of a replaceable filter element to catch any oily mist which passes through it. Importantly, the Flashlube Catch Can Pro incorporates 19mm inlet and outlet ports for smooth flow characteristics, as well as pressure and vacuum safety relief valves.
The catch can features free-flowing, large-diameter inlet and outlet ports of 19mm, a replaceable filter and a rotating head to aid in fitting. It’s all compact enough (146mm high x 116mm wide x 137mm deep) to fit into the most overcrowded engine bay.
